While HDMI 1.4 can display a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 (2160p) at 30 frames per second, HDMI 2.0 can display the Ultra HD 4K resolution 3840 x 2160 (2160p) at 60 frames per second. This makes moving images at the highest resolution even smoother.
Support for the Rec. 2020 standard
HDMI 2.0 supports a wider color range, namely 12-bit color. This makes the images with Ultra HD even more realistic.
HDR (High Dynamic Range)
The HDR function improves the display of dark and bright images (contrast enhancement). If both devices support this, you can activate this (if necessary) on one or both devices.
ARC (Audio Return Channel)
The television, if it has ARC support, can send audio signals back to a receiver to play this sound. This is especially useful when watching analog TV or digital TV via a module in the TV. 1 HDMI cable is then sufficient to bring the video signal to the TV and the audio signal from the TV to the receiver.
